Argan Oil - The Liquid Gold oil prized for it's skin & hair benefits
Where does Argan oil come from
Produced from the kernels of the argan tree (Argania spinosa L.), this plant oil is exclusive to Morocco. People throughout the world have taken advantage of the many argan oil benefits to help treat skin inflammations and infections, bug bites and skin rashes. This amazing oil is being used by men and women all over the world seeking an effective, all-natural moisturiser for both skin and hair.
Nutritional Profile of Argan Oil
Argan oil contains high amounts of both oleic (omega 9) and linoleic (omega 6) fatty acids. These acids are essential in reducing skin inflammation such as in acne or eczema. Another reason why argan oil is so therapeutic is because it contains vitamins A and E, and valuable antioxidants, which not only protect against oxidative stress but also help boost cell production while promoting healthy skin and hair.
Argan oil also contains carotenoids that are great for regenerating damaged skin and preventing oxidative damage from occurring. The antioxidants in argan oil are beneficial for healing skin which is irritated, cracked, damaged or even burned. It is best used as a preventive for dry or sore skin but can also be used to speed up skin healing due to its inflammation reducing properties.
Beneficial Properties of Argan oil
Softening
Argan oil’s softening properties are ideal when dealing with brittle nails, dry hands and cracked, hard skin on the feet. With regular use it will leave your skin soft, supple, moisturised and your hails stronger. Try massaging a few drops of argan oil into cuticles, hands and feet before bed each night for a few weeks to notice a difference.
Acne & Anti ageing Argan oil is non-comedogenic, absorbs quickly and does not leave an oily residue on the skin. Over time it can also help reduce sebum production making it a useful oil for acne and outbreak prone skin. The oil is gentle and safe to use around your eyes. The vitamin A & E contained within the oil help to reduce fine wrinkles and keep this delicate area hydrated. Fatty acids have been shown to maintain skin elasticity and are essential for maintaining collagen levels, and argan oil is absolutely loaded with those acids making it a first choice oil for skin showing signs of ageing.
Hair Conditioning & Styling
Argan oil makes hair softer, silkier and shinier. It is a great oil to use as a hair conditioner and it can even help to treat split ends, tame frizzy hair and define curls. Argan oil makes hair more manageable and adds a healthy, attractive shine to any hair style. Simply rub a few drops of argan oil over your palms and then comb your fingers through your hair to apply either before or after blow drying. Anti-Drandruff & Flaky Scalp
Many people suffer from flakiness and dry scalp as they tend to shampoo with drying chemical agents without restoring it with moisture which it needs to stay healthy. To combat this you can apply a teaspoon of warmed oil into your scalp, massage gentle concentrating on areas that are particularly flaky, cover with a towel or a shower cap, leave on for a minimum of 30 minutes then shampoo out. It may take a few applications but it is worth doing to restore moisture levels of both scalp and hair. Doing this will also help encourage hair growth due to the amazing nutritional profile of argan oil, making it a perfect treatment when your hair begins to thin out.
I guess it comes as no surprise why we not only have incorporated organic argan oil in some of our face and hair formulations, but also offer the pure unadulterated organic argan oil for you to use as you please, all at a very affordable price.
