Have You Tried Dry Exfoliation Before?
When it comes to self-care, taking care of your skin is one of the most indulgent ways to go about it. Self-care should never be viewed as a luxury but a top priority and it’s essential for our mental and emotional health and wellbeing… so if you’re keen to try something new and really give your skin a treat, dry exfoliation could well be the answer to your prayers.
It couldn’t be easier to get started with it, either. All you need to do is invest in a dry body brush or a mitt (perhaps both!) and some lovely pure massage oils and away you go.
Create a calm and soothing environment somewhere at home, put on your favourite chillout album, perhaps light a few scented candles, turn the lights down low… once you’re ready, simply derobe and start lightly brushing and buffing the skin in gentle circles, starting from your ankles and working your way up.
You can even find dry body brushes that come with little massaging nodules to ease your tired muscles and really help you relax.
Once you’ve finished brushing, simply hop in the shower and rinse off quickly with your favourite indulgent body wash, then pat yourself down gently with a towel.
Reach for your body oils and apply as liberally as desired. If you leave your skin so it’s a little on the damp side, you’ll find that your oils spread more easily - so you use less in the process and can enjoy them for longer.
And, for the eco-conscious among you, dry exfoliation has one added benefit… you use far less water than you would if you had a proper shower, so you could reduce your water footprint quite significantly indeed!
